Ford Sues Ferrari to court over F-150 Usage




Ford Motor Co sued luxury automaker Ferrari on Wednesday for trademark infringement after Ferrari named its 2011 Formula 1 racing car the "F150." The Ferrari F150th Italia, originally called the Ferrari F150, is a Formula One motor racing car built by Scuderia Ferrari to compete in the 2011 Formula One season. It was launched at Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello, Italy on 28 January 2011,[2] one year to the day after the launch of its predecessor, the Ferrari F10. The car's chassis designation, the F150, has been chosen to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Italy's unification,

Ford Fiesta Sales Reaches 10,000 Unit Milestone





Ford India started the new year with its best monthly sales performance ever, with 10,026 units sold in the first month of 2011 a more than four-fold increase, against 2453 units sold over the same period last year. By reaching the 10,000-unit monthly sales milestone, Ford has surpassed its previous monthly record of 9,478, set in March 2010. Sales of the Ford Figo also hit an all-time new monthly high, with more than 8,600 units sold in January. This marks the best monthly sales performance for the Figo since its launch in March 2010.
In 2010, Ford India sold 83,887 vehicles, an impressive year-on-year increase of more than 184%.

Ford Fiesta to be named as Ford Fiesta Classic



Ford will launch the next generation Fiesta (B299) in India this year. This means that the current Fiesta will either have to be faced out or renamed if Ford wants to call the 2011 Fiesta, the Fiesta. Hence the company will re-badge the current Fiesta as the Fiesta Classic. The new Fiesta will be base on Ford’s global kinetic design theme and is being extensively tested in Chennai, near the company’s manufacturing facility. The 2011 Fiesta will be powered by a more powerful 1.6 liter petrol motor producing 118bhp and 1.6 liter 90bhp diesel with 20.7kgm of torque. Ford will price the new Fiesta between Rs. 7-9 lakhs. the old Ford Fiesta will continue to sell alongside the new model, albeit in a rebranded avatar, and will now be called the Ford Fiesta Classic. Now, will Ford India chop off the Fiesta Classic’s prices and reposition the car as a VFM mid segment sedan alternative

Ford Figo is the Indian Car of the year 2011





Ford’s Figo has won the 2011 Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) title beating notable competitors including Chevrolet’s Beat, Nissan’s Micra, Skoda’s Yeti, VW’s Polo and Vento. The winner is decided based on a point system in which Ford Figo emerged a clear winner where Volkswagen Vento secured a second place. This award is a big achievement for Figo as it will help boost the image of the car further in the Indian automobile market.
