The sports sedan features the same hybrid system found in the Cayenne Hybrid and is powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine mated to an electric motor. The engine produces 333bhp and the electric motor adds another 47bhp to take the total power output to a stonking 380bhp. The car uses an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and brake regeneration technology to further improve fuel economy which Porsche claims is a tad less than 13kpl.
A nickel metal hydride battery can store enough charge to shove the Panamera S hybrid up to 59.5mph, before the V6 clutches in. Performance is between the Panamera Turbo and Panamera 4S with 0-100kph in six seconds and a 270kph top speed, the achievement appears even more commendable.
